Evaluation

Evaluation The main message i wanted to convey to the audience is that there is help out there and you don’t have to sort bullying out your self and you can ask for help from teachers parents and any figure there to help. This also shows that there are better and more effective ways of sorting out problems rather than trying to sort them out your selves which doesn’t always work. I also wanted to outline that bullying isn't ok and there are consequences for it. I have conveyed these to the audience through my storyboard by having the boy getting bullied the first time try and resolve the situation by confronting and trying to stop the bullies himself which didn't work and the bullying carried on. Then the scene goes back in time to the bullying first started and this time instead of trying to stop the bullies himself he told the teacher who as a result punished the bully and the bullying stopped. The production followed the codes and conventions of short clips by havin...

Audience research

Image
These are graphs which represent the answers from the questionnaires. The questionnaires where handed to children in the age group shown in the graphs. They answered the questions anomalously and hopefully truthfully. The graphs show that most people would want to short the problems out themselves this is an area where the short clip could focus on other better ways of getting help and the support that they would come with. I could also talk about verbal bullying more as that is the most common. It could focus on males more as these seem to be the most effected.

Regulation and controls for production work

Image
Regulations and controls for a short clip are set by Ofcom and they have to apply. For example there are very strict rules around using children in adverts. If that child does not give you permission and or there parents or guardians they can not be used in the advert. Also if you have a case study you can’t make it up it has to be real story and there names can’t be disclosed and they have to be given full amenity. Ofcom uses the communication act to follow and stand by. There are also big restrictions around using vulnerable children in averts for charities that may misinform the viewer and trick them into donating. Any information disclosed by 14year olds or under must be given parental permission. Anything involving schools must have permission from the head teacher. There are also rules around the language and decently of a clip. For example there are certain words you can’t say. In your reenactment of a bullying situation and bad language was used you could not include that ...

Initial Ideas

A scene where a boy is getting bullied by a girl this challenges the stereotype  that boys are the usual offenders of bullying. They kick the boy in the shins. and then the boy looks for ways to get help. After getting help from a teacher the bullying stops and the girl never attacks him again. Website is interactive which highlights the effect of bullying. There are links to other websites which might help as well as offering advice its self. there will be games which help people help others and stop them from getting bullied as well as games for those who are getting bullied which teach them how to get help and that it is ok to ask for help. Another form of media which i could use its posters. These could other links to useful sites as well as indicating themselves how to find help. There could also be diagrams and facts to show how many people actually get bullied to help raise awareness of bullying.
