Regulation and controls for production work
Regulations and controls for a short clip are set by Ofcom and they have to apply.
For example there are very strict rules around using children in adverts. If that child does not give you permission and or there parents or guardians they can not be used in the advert.
Also if you have a case study you can’t make it up it has to be real story and there names can’t be disclosed and they have to be given full amenity. Ofcom uses the communication act to follow and stand by. There are also big restrictions around using vulnerable children in averts for charities that may misinform the viewer and trick them into donating. Any information disclosed by 14year olds or under must be given parental permission. Anything involving schools must have permission from the head teacher.
There are also rules around the language and decently of a clip. For example there are certain words you can’t say. In your reenactment of a bullying situation and bad language was used you could not include that in the reenactment.
Also if it is an advert the fundraiser can’t take advantage of the viewers mistakes. in the bullying example you could not say if you have ever bullied someone donating will make it better. Cant over exaggerate facts about the beneficially. for example saying that everyone they help never has any issues in there life to do with bullying.
Example of the rules around children.
