Evaluation
The main message i wanted to convey to the audience is that there is help out there and you don’t have to sort bullying out your self and you can ask for help from teachers parents and any figure there to help. This also shows that there are better and more effective ways of sorting out problems rather than trying to sort them out your selves which doesn’t always work. I also wanted to outline that bullying isn't ok and there are consequences for it.
I have conveyed these to the audience through my storyboard by having the boy getting bullied the first time try and resolve the situation by confronting and trying to stop the bullies himself which didn't work and the bullying carried on. Then the scene goes back in time to the bullying first started and this time instead of trying to stop the bullies himself he told the teacher who as a result punished the bully and the bullying stopped.
The production followed the codes and conventions of short clips by having dialogue which related to the clips. Having each character stand out. Having music in the background which represents the emotion and whats happening in the scene.
I choose to do my short clip in the way i did with going back in time because through my audience research i found out that the majority of people would or have sorted out bullying themselves without telling anyone or asking for help from anyone. This short clip aims to show better alternatives to stopping bullying and getting help you need.
I might have asked in the questionnaire where people have experienced bullying or have seen bullying to know the best place to set my short scene in for example school playground or bus stop. This is because it would have felt more personal to the people watching the clip and may remind them of a time they have or seen bullying and what in the future they could do to help if it happens again. I think this work was useful in learning what my coursework will be like. This is because i was unsure what the coursework/exam was like.
The strengths in my production work where my media research and my questionnaire this is because i found out that people where unaware of maybe better alternatives to dealing with bullying which is what i based my short clip around. I think the weaknesses in my planning was my regulations of short clips as it was difficult to find all the regulations around short clips and what applies to the internet this was due to the website being unclear and cluttered that i used (of com).
I have learnt that responding to a brief work is difficult as it maybe on a topic our not that interested in however i have also learnt that There are lots of stages to the planing for your final product and you don't just jump straight into trying to make it.
